My name is Becky, I’m a 24-year-old Scottish gal who is A Long Way From Home.
See what I did there ???

First of all thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog, I genuinely appreciate it, I’m pretty new to this but it is definitely something I have gotten addicted to quickly.

I was made redundant at the start of 2016 so I decided that before I got myself stuck into another Mon – Fri job I would use my savings to do something exciting, instead of spending it on my most favourite materialistic things (gadgets, clothes and makeup). On the 29th of February 2016 I left my home town of Dundee with the plan of travelling the world!

I am currently in Australia on a Backpacker 417 Visa, this means I can stay in the country for 1 year, working and living like an ozzy! I have now also completed my regional work where I worked for 88 days on a cattle station which has granted me a 2nd year visa to stay in this stunning country!

In July through to September 2016 (after my 88 days farm work) I travelled to South East Asia where I spent 2 months in Indonesia (Bali & the Gili Islands), Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Now that I am back in Australia, I have been living and working in Perth WA since September 2016, where I have been working, saving – car camping for 10 weeks around Australia and planning my next trips.

Vietnam, the Philippines and Tokyo are next on the itinerary so stay tuned!

Feel free to join me on my journey by following me on Instagram & Snapchat where I post most regularly and of course Facebook!

    1. Hey Dani! Thanks so much for checking out my blog I really appreciate it! I’ve been a bit absent from blogging/social media recently (🤦🏻‍♀️) but feel free to ask as many questions as you like. I’ve just returned from another road trip where I did Perth>Adelaide>Melbourne>AliceSprings>Darwin>Broom>Perth by car (pics on insta but no blog😭yet) and I’ve done the east coast in a camper too so I’d be happy to help!! Happy travels to you too!🤗😘

      1. Ah, sounds like a dream! I did the East coast a couple of years ago by rented van and loved it! Now I’m here again but we’ve just bought our own van and are looking for our 88 days work (hopefully ours goes better than your first experience 😂).
After we do the 88 days I want to do western aus, so I’ll definitely have questions come then!

      2. Amazing!! Oh god I wouldn’t wish my experience on anyone 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Hopefully you find something quickly, let me know how you get on! WA is honestly so gorgeous I would highly recommend it! You have given me the urge to get my butt into gear and get back to blogging and posting on insta, I have left it far too long!!
